YES! Our college has mandated us back to work and we couldn’t be more excited!
We also couldn’t be busier. Our preparation to re-open involves taking multiple steps to reduce the risk of transmission, and to promote to the best of our ability, a safe and responsible level of care and service.
As always, we want the BEST for you!
In order to promote a safe environment, patient appointments will begin gradually starting the week of June 8, 2020. We will initiate contact with those patients who had standing appointments prior to shut down, as well as those who have called recently with appointment requests. We will be working without a receptionist for the time being. Should you call and get through to our answering machine, please DO leave us a message! Your call IS important to us and we will get back to you ASAP!
In order to accommodate our new COVID-19 safety protocols (including an extra level of sterilization, disinfection, and physical distancing) there may be wait times.
Please hang in there and be patient with us! We can’t wait to see you!
We are asking all patients coming for treatment at Blue Mountain Acupuncture Clinic to follow the COVID-19 safety Protocols which we are putting in place. These are issued by our College and BMAC we will be adhering strictly to them. This will support the safety of patients, practitioners, and staff alike. Our College is working with the Ministry of Health in monitoring the situation closely and making changes as necessary.
Your health and safety are our top priority!
Blue Mountain Acupuncture Clinic
Are you ready for it? Here is what we are asking our patients to do for us:
*Please attend your appointments punctually to minimize waiting (really, where else have you got to be?).
*You will receive a text or phone call (or a wave if your parked out front) to let you know when we are ready for you (& boy are we ready!). We no longer have an indoor waiting room at this time.
*You will make your way onto our lovely front porch. Here you will:
- Find a hand sanitizing station where we ask you to please clean your hands.
- Then kindly don your mask.
- Fill out any consent form if you are new to the clinic, as well as the patient screening questionnaire – we will supply you with this.
- At this point we get to say “HELLO” (yay!) and then take your temperature (isn’t this fun? touch less thermometer, don’t worry!) and screen you for any COVID-19 related symptoms.
*If you pass with flying colours, you will follow the practitioner directly to your treatment room (you will not be allowed to pass GO or collect $200).
*If you do have a fever = 37.8 C or greater (according to Ontario Ministry of Health) we CANNOT provide treatment and recommend you contact your family physician ASAP.
*Jeff’s patients will follow him DIRECTLY upstairs and use the second-floor bathroom if necessary, Corinna’s are to remain on the main floor and ONLY use the downstairs bathroom if necessary.
*A quick note about MASKS, this is a BYOM kind of situation (bring your own mask). You may wear any kind of mask you like (just please no Freddy Kruger) surgical or cloth, we promise not to judge your style! You MUST wear your mask for the entire length of your appointment. We’ll be doing the same 🙂
*It is also a BYOP kind of affair (aren’t we sophisticated), so please bring your own PEN in order to fill out our patient screening questionnaire and to write down your next apt time!
*Please attend your appointment ALONE (we’ll keep you company!). Refrain from bringing extra people to the appointment unless absolutely necessary. Anyone who must accompany you must also be screened and MUST wear a face mask.
*Please CANCEL your appointment if you are experiencing ANY cold or flu-like symptoms or illness. Please note, that under these circumstances, our cancellation policy is currently NOT in effect. You must be free of symptoms for 14 days before rebooking appointment.
*Upon entering the treatment room, you will be asked to use the alcohol-based hand sanitizer provided once more prior to treatment. Remember, cleanliness is next to godliness 😉
*If you must cough or sneeze during the appointment, you are asked to do so into your elbow, or tissue, then the appointment will be paused to allow you to re-sanitize your hands.
*At the end of your treatment session, you will be asked to sanitize your hands again. And this, folks, is why we bought a bucketload of hand sanitizer from Canadian Tire (resist the urge to dive in, full emersion is not recommended!).
*Lastly, if you have been outside of Canada in the past 14 days, you must NOT come to your appointment, until you have SELF-ISOLATED for 14 days.

*And in case you forget ANY of this – we’ll be here to remind you – we’ve gotten good at
telling people what to do 🙂
What are we doing for you, you ask?
*We have reduced our clinic capacity to ensure physical distancing and time to sanitize rooms.
*Your appointment will be scheduled to minimize overlap of appointment times.
*Physical barriers and distancing guidelines within the building will be in effect.
*Before entering the facility, we will review pre-screen criteria and your temperature will be taken and recorded. Then you will be accompanied by your practitioner directly to the treatment room.
*The practitioner will be wearing a mask for your entire appointment time, utilizing regular hand washing practices and wearing gloves.
*We are thoroughly cleaning the treatment area, bathrooms, and other frequently used surfaces including payment machines between clients.
*YOUR TREATMENT TABLE WILL LOOK DIFFERENT! This is because we are no longer using cloth sheets or headrest covers on our treatment tables. They have been replaced with soft, disposable examining room table paper and head rest covers. All of this with your COMFORT and SAFETY in mind! We will still provide you with towels – the real thing – and have taken the laundering of those to the next level!
*None of this will affect your R & R during treatment! 🙂
Payments and Appointment Scheduling:
*Ideally, we aim to process payments over the phone to allow for physical distancing. Please ensure your credit card information is up to date in your file. If this is not doable, we will make in clinic payments accessible.
*At this time, we will be booking appointments over the phone OR at the end of your scheduled appointment. This is in order to manage appropriate flow of patients and physical distancing throughout the clinic.
